How it Works

Once you have successfully created an account and installed the software, you must define your backup selections.

Our staff are happy to assist in defining your initial selections should you run into any questions.

What happens next?

  • You log off your computer as normal (leaving it powered on).
  • At the scheduled time, the first backup begins by compressing and encrypting your selected data. You needn't worry about closing your applications due to the 'open-file module' which is included in all plans. This initial backup may take some hours depending on the volume of data and speed of your internet connection.
  • When finished you are sent an email report, indicating the status of the backup. Additionally our staff review logs to ensure it has completed successfully.
  • Subsequent backups detect the differences in your data and compress and encrypt only the changes within your files. This is called 'In-file delta' and dramatically decreases your bandwidth usage, somtimes only transferring 2% of the total file size.
  • If a file is deleted, the original file (and its changes) are kept for (by default) 7 days, so you can easily recover accidently deleted data. (The retention period is set by you).
  • Every action (backup, restore, config change) is logged with email reports sent to you and our staff, so you are never left in the dark.
